Moving In
Moving in can be a very exciting yet nerve racking experience.
Here are some tips from students who have survived the move-in
experience.
1. Get there early so you have time to get acquainted with your
new surroundings and have time to organize your stuff before
classes start.
2. Don't bring tapestries, candles, or hot plates (they are fire
hazards and usually not allowed.
3. Remember to bring sandals for the shower, a roll of quarters
for laundry, a daily planner, and a computer lock for your laptop.
4. Be careful with partying during the first week or two; the
police usually like to set an example early on.
5. Try to make as many friends as you can right away; leave your
door open. It's hard to become a part of a group of friends later
on in the year.
6. Find out if there will be carts available to you for moving
your belongings. If not, you may want to bring a dolly.
One of the best stores for buying college supplies is Walmart .
They have the lowest prices and carry everything you'll need in one store.
• Next-day delivery is available when purchasing online.
to find a store near you.
**Student Tip** - Buy your supplies before you arrive at school.
Stores sell out of key items quickly and the stores can be madness.
